Annabel Young

I am a local artist living in Alton with my husband and two cats. I am a member of the Alton Art Society, and I am proud to be the Chairperson.

My passion is painting flowers and I take inspiration from my garden. Of late I have also tried my hand at animals and landscapes. I work mostly in acrylic, but I also use watercolours & mixed media. I also paint abstracts which gives me freedom and I love the way one can lose oneself completely in the piece.

I re-discovered art in middle age and attend a class in Beech, the rest I have taught myself. I enjoy meeting fellow artists at demonstrations and events. I have exhibited my work at our Annual Exhibition each year which is well attended. I have been fortunate to sell many of my paintings and am now approached to do commissions.

I work part time but still manage to fit in working in my garden, cooking and walking with my husband; not forgetting painting. I also make greetings cards which are very popular as they are all original. I sell these and my paintings at our Exhibition and Craft Sales.
